WHY?

Emily has entered the "wonderful" phase of, "Why?" I always knew this was eventually going to come, but for some reason when it's your friends telling you about it, it almost seems cute rather than annoying. Wrong, it's annoying. At first you think, how nice, she is being really inquisitive. Then after about 5 times of "Why, mommy?" you just want to say, "BECAUSE!" It only started yesterday but in two days I've probably heard the word "why" at least 200 times. If it were used in meaningful places I wouldn't mind, but when it's asked after something like, "Yes, daddy had chicken nuggets for lunch." "Why?" then it just gets exasperating!

Now, to let Emily redeem herself in cuteness points, here is another short performance by her. Let me know if you can figure out the song this time!

That is really cute. I can't wait to see everyone this week! Hopefully Paisley won't be in shy mode the whole time.

It's great to know I'm not the only one who feels like my brain cells exited by body as my children came through the birth canal! :)

Very sweet video!
I am right there with you on the "why" issue. Mike likes to launch into a long factual explanation, like, "Well, chicken nuggets are a good source of protein and can help your body build muscle tissue. . . " That usually causes Lily to move on to something more interesting!

She is so cute! And it's been years since I heard the "whys," I almost forgot about that stage. It can definitely get annoying when you're the one going through it, but it's kind of cute when you don't have to live with it! --Cheryl

So jessie told me to watch the videos that you uploaded, and i laughed pretty hard at those. I laughed even harder at this post, mainly the last story with jeremy's chicken nuggets...

oh my goodness the piano playing and singing was the most adorable thing ever!! I can't imagine how rough the why stage has to be...I like your friends idea of going off into a really detailed answer though. I bet that works well.

Just remember she is learning when she asks that kind of stuff! She'll probably remember most of the answers you give! Those darn kiddos!

Wait until you get to the "what if" stage...just when you thought you made it through!
