Grandma and Grandpa

I have really been slacking on this lately. I just looked at the date of my last post and it's August 11 -- sad! 9 whole days ago. Last week got busy with Jeremy's mom Susanne and step-dad Mark (which was a surprise) arriving from Las Vegas. Just in time to watch the girls last Thursday while I watched our friends' Jon and Laurie's girls -- Jon was busy giving his kidney to his sister, amazing. We saw Jon on Sunday and he looked great, and so far his sister Michelle is doing well, too.

On Saturday grandpa and grandma gave mom a day off and watched the girls (Jeremy was at a golf tournament; big surprise, I know!) It was wonderful, I almost didn't know what to do with myself. Any mom knows that having the house to herself . . . the list of things she'd like to do is too long!

On Sunday afternoon we went to Izzy's ice cream shop in St. Paul and had a great time. Here are some pictures of the girls eating ice cream with grandma and grandpa, and then dancing (Emily's dancing pretty much consists of turning in circles, and now Bri has followed suit with her dancing style.)

Grandpa left on Sunday and grandma is leaving today. Thanks for all your help with the girls this week, Mark and Susanne!

We saw a thing about Izzy's on the food channel not too long ago, and David made the comment that we needed to ask you if you had ever gone there. I think it was on "Throwdown". So, I guess the answer is yes, you have been there. :)

Annie, funny you should mention that because the only reason we went there was because Mark and Susanne saw it on the food channel! Must've been the same show.

Wow, you guys know more about Izzy's than I do! I hate to say it, but I didn't think their cookies n' cream was as good as others I've had. We have a little ice cream shop by us called Big Dipper that's probably my favorite around. Sure, David, the cone will be in the mail tomorrow.
